September 2008 "Learning
to Fly" from my Cypress series was entered into the 2008 National Geographic International Photography
Contest. In November 2008 "Learning to Fly" placed in the top 30 in the National Geographic International Photography Contest in the Nature category. It tied for 14th place! There were 100,000 entries into this contest! It was an honor to even be picked for
the top thirty! I will surely be entering this contest again! Thank you
to everyone that came out and voted for my image! I really do
appreciate that you took the time to support me! Thank you!

“Postcard from Sebastian” has been selected as a winner for the month of December in this year’s photo contest for the 2008 St. John's River Water Management District, Indian River Lagoon Calendar. I don't have any links to share, but I have given Indian River Lagoon program St. John's Water Management District, or its designee, permission to utilize the image in future publications, exhibits and on its Internet site to promote the functions and values of the Indian River Lagoon. I have also granted Smithsonian Marine Station at Fort Pierce and the Brevard Zoo permission for the use of the image in the development of educational materials and exhibits, on the Smithsonian’s website (including Internet publication of the IRL photo Gallery, Indian River Lagoon Species Inventory and Field Guide to the Indian River Lagoon); in the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit; and the Brevard Zoo’s Native Florida Aquarium Exhibit.

"Blue Cypress ~ Dancing Reflections" was selected for 1st prize in a local amateur Photography Contest.
"Blue Cypress ~ Bent" was featured in a group gallery showing of artists from Photo-Genesis at the Mountain Empire Community College in Virginia, August 26 through October 19th 2007. So hopefully you had the opportunity to stop in and check it out while it was on display! This showing was a first of its kind, an International Showing of artists based on a website!
